Short answer

British citizens must be aged 18 to 35 inclusive, and IRCC must invite you to apply before your 36th birthday.

British citizens must be aged 18 to 35 inclusive. If you are approaching 36, entering the pool before your birthday is not enough on its own: IRCC must invite you to apply before your 36th birthday. An invitation received in time satisfies the IEC age assessment. If your application is approved, you can enter Canada after that birthday, provided your port-of-entry letter is still valid and you meet the remaining entry requirements.
